As many of you may know, I left the university that I started at and am now taking courses in my hometown to get caught back up with transferable credits so that I could eventually transfer back into another university.
Since the beginning of November, I had narrowed my options down to two schools. One, I didn't want to go to at all, but it was good for my major, I had friends and it was an amazing school in general. The other was close to home and good for my major, and, for a while, I was leaning very heavily on going to this one.
I had made my decision on going to my second option up until the signs started pointing me in a different direction, to the school I didn't want to go to.
After a while, everything fell into place and I realized that the first school was the place that God was calling me to be and that school would be known as Texas A&M University.
I had always known of their rich traditions and the love that each student, alumni and fan has for the school, but I didn't truly understand it until I visited for the first time as a college student.
I was enthralled with the energy that engulfed the city and noticed how the university fosters a hard-work ethic in each of the students.
I went to visit friends at the end of January, and that trip is when I made my official decision to transfer there. I got a taste of the school's Christian circle, and that's what ultimately made the decision for me.
I know other schools have opportunities for Christians too, but there was something different about TAMU. Something that continued to capture my attention even after I had left
Like I stated earlier, I didn't want to go to school at A&M. Ever since I was little I had zero desire, partly because I was born and raised a Longhorn (sorry dad.) Even when I realized that A&M was an option, I still didn't want to go, but God changes plans and perspectives.
For those of you who are reading this and are either trying to figure out where to go to school or transferring like me, the biggest thing that I learned from this process is to have faith.
God works in some weird ways, but it will ultimately make you a better and stronger person and change your future for the better. Trust the process and have faith in where God is calling you.
